It’s hard to believe that it was only a year ago when I said “I do” and married my wonderful hubby.
I still vividly remember that day and all those happy emotions that I went through that day as I walked emotionally down the aisle and we said our wedding vows in front of our family and friends who came from all around the world to celebrate with us on July 1st, 2012.
A year later, hubby and I celebrated our first year anniversary on Canada Day, and as we got around to our first year anniversary, I wanted to celebrate one of the traditions – save the top layer of your wedding cake, freeze it, and eat it on your first year anniversary.
We took our own spin on this tradition, and decided to celebrate it in our own way! A year ago, we chose not to save our top layer and eat “freezer burnt” cake, instead we finished all of our yummy cake days after our wedding.
I contacted our wedding cake baker, Sweet Invitation, and ordered a mini replica of our wedding cake so we could enjoy a freshly baked cake on our anniversary date. Check out the pictures here, it was just about 20 cm tall! How cute right?
