When hubby and I got married last year, there was a point where I had already chosen THE ONE… my wedding gown from Rivini.
Though I loved it and couldn’t wait to put it on my special day, I knew I wanted to slip into something short so I could freely move around after all the formal festivities. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED my gown, I wore it twice afterall! But how often do you get to play dress-up? I couldn’t resist searching for a fun number to party in!
It’s normal in Chinese Weddings for brides to make more than one dress change, typically into a Chinese dress (known as a cheong sam) or another gown in a different colour. I remember my mom kept asking if I was getting a second gown, I don’t think she expected that I had settled for a fun cocktail dress from Ivy & Aster instead… but that’s me and my style! So don’t forget to follow your heart and do what’s makes sense for you.
Short wedding dresses are definitely becoming a trend, and it appears that there are some brides gravitating towards this trend. If it makes you happy, then go for it, it’s your special day after all. Below are some of the ones I’ve come across that are fun and a perfect dancing dress, any of these could be a great alternative to that beautiful wedding gown of yours. Would you consider a rocking a short wedding dress?
